When officers entered the apartment, they immediately noticed a foul odor. As they began to search the premises, one of the officers opened Dahmer ’s bedside table drawer and made a chilling discovery - a collection of 72 disturbing Polaroid photographs. These images depicted Dahmer ’s victims in various stages of dismemberment. Each time, Dahmer convinced officers that everything was fine, including a supposed relationship with a half-naked drunk 14-year-old boy inside his apartment, according to the New York Times. On July 22, 1991, police made a gruesome discovery while searching the apartment of Milwaukee serial killer and cannibal, Jeffrey Dahmer . Officers were led to apartment 213 after finding Dahmer ’s final victim, Tracy Edwards, who had managed to escape and run down the street with a pair of handcuffs dangling from one of his wrists. Inside that 57-gallon barrel, police found three torsos dissolving. All in, the police discovered body parts, gruesome souvenirs, bones, and corpses of 11 people in his apartment, per FBI records. On July 22nd, 1991, 32-year-old Tracy Edwards fled an apartment building on 25th Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with handcuffs dangling from his wrist. He managed to flag down a passing police car and he told the officers some “freak” named Jeffrey Dahmer had lured him to apartment 213.
